The future of Kuchchaveli took an important step forward today as the RIAYA Foundation, in collaboration with the Jarvis Institute, officially launched its new STEM Education Programme aimed at empowering children and young people with the knowledge, skills and mindset needed for the future.
The programme focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and is designed to encourage students to explore beyond traditional classroom learning, develop problem-solving abilities and discover their potential as future innovators, engineers, entrepreneurs and technology leaders.
A Strong Beginning for a New Educational Journey
The inaugural session brought together enthusiastic students and parents who showed strong interest in the opportunities that STEM education can provide.
The participation of families from the community marked an encouraging beginning for the programme and reflected a growing interest in providing young people in Kuchchaveli with access to modern, future-oriented education.
Through practical activities, creative challenges and analytical exercises, the programme will encourage students to ask questions, experiment with ideas and develop solutions to real-world problems.
“Let’s Think Like Engineers” Challenge
As part of the launch session, students participated in a “Let’s Think Like Engineers” challenge.
The questionnaire was designed to understand how students approach problems, think creatively and analyse different situations. Rather than simply testing academic knowledge, the activity aims to identify students’ individual strengths, interests and ways of thinking.
The feedback gathered through this initial activity will help the programme team better understand the needs and abilities of participating students and develop future learning activities accordingly.
Building Skills for the Future
STEM education is increasingly important in a world shaped by technology, innovation and rapid changes in the workplace.
For communities such as Kuchchaveli, providing young people with exposure to these areas can create new pathways towards higher education, technical careers, entrepreneurship and global opportunities.
